EDUCATION & AWARENESS

The Education and Awareness Department is established with mandate to:

Weekly Environmental Radio Program (Marshallese)

Keep an eye ear out for the EPA’s radio program every Thursday night at 8pm on V7AB. Listen up to learn more about environmental issues that affect you!

Community Awareness Presentations

This part of presentation is targeted for adults and families in local community. We visit communities and churches to cover both localized and overall environmental issues in the Marshall Islands and introduce EPA roles and regulations. We also emphasize Traditional Environmental Management (TEM) that has been practiced over the past years in the island.

School Awareness Presentations

We believe that it is essential to educate our children to develop a respect for our environment. Our in-class presentations covers topics of solid waste management, water quality, climate change, conservation areas, and introductions to EPA roles and activities within the island. We also have interactive Q&A sections after presentations to review what we have covered. If you are interested in our environmental presentations for your classroom, please contact us.

Hosting Environmental Activities

We believe that environmental education is a dynamic partnership. We often work with partner organisations such as the Marshall Islands Visitors Authority (MIVA), C.A.R.E. Program, Youth-to-Youth in Health (local NGO), Marshall Islands Conservation Society (MICS), various schools, colleges and universities and volunteer programmes.

The Marshall Islands Journal

From time to time, we publish important environmental notices in the Journal.

Notice Boards

RMIEPA posts notices about up-coming activities and clean-up jambos at both post offices in Majuro.
